This may be the most rare FJ40 in United States
This 1975 FJ40 is from Las Vegas, Nevada. It is a one owner vehicle that was garage kept and has only 7,653 actual miles. This vehicle was offered to CCOT from the estate of the prior owner and we felt fortunate to have the opportunity to purchase such a rare vehicle. This FJ40 is the most rare vehicle CCOT has purchased in five years. The original owner was a "Roulette Wheel" painter on the Las Vegas strip. This was a third vehicle for him and he maintained this FJ40 in top physical and mechanical condition throughout its Vegas life.
This FJ40 had never seen a spot of rust because it spent its entire life in the high desert of Las Vegas. When we received the vehicle the interior was in top condition as well as the body. The paint was still good and 100% original but the owner had painted a Roulette Wheel on the driver's door. Seeing the original condition of the vehicle to be 100% rust free and dent free gave us great comfort to know this vehicle was worthy of a museum quality restoration. This vehicle with such low actual miles was a perfect specimen for CCOT to restore to the absolute highest level.
CCOT timed the completion of this vehicle to serve as our 2003 Calendar FJ40. We always select our most rare Land Cruiser to be featured on our annual calendar. To date we have distributed over 5,000 CCOT calendars featuring this vehicle. You can see calendar image, below.
In our restoration process, this FJ40 was completely dismantled and all parts inspected for repair or refinishing. Repaint was with original color (Code 621 ~ Rustic Green) and is of a much higher quality than original factory finish. For a "Factory Original Finish", CCOT paints all FJ40s with PPG Single Stage Acrylic Enamel.
All cosmetic parts or mechanical parts were replaced with new Toyota parts. Mechanically, this vehicle was in superb condition when arriving at CCOT. We combed over every inch of this vehicle and serviced all mechanical systems and replaced any worn or dysfunctional parts. Vehicle drives tight and performs beautifully.
To upgrade this rare FJ40, CCOT added Toyota power steering and air-conditioning to make this FJ40 comfortable to operate without distracting from its originality. To add a little toughness to the exterior look, we added a WARN 9.5ti Thermometric Winch with CCOT's "Hell for Stout" shackle bumper. To make the interior a little more functional we added the CCOT center console and CCOT's "Visor Storage Shelf". These upgrades add to vehicle comfort, look and functionality.
It was the intent of CCOT to restore this FJ40 to museum quality and we did. It is our hope that this FJ40 will remain in the same new condition for many, many years and never be exposed to salt. We additionally hope that the new owner will keep actual mileage below 10,000 mi. to retain its unique rarity in the Land Cruiser world. CCOT will only sell this vehicle by retaining a "first right of refusal" to purchase vehicle back should Purchaser ever decide to sell.
Thanks,
CCOT
