SOLD - 1977 FJ40 ~ "Hands Down" one of the rarest FJ40s in the U.S.!
CCOT's Calendar vehicles are exclusively restored by one man and one man only, Mr. Quirino Barron. Quirino is a lifelong Master Painter who has lead our CCOT restoration team through hundreds of FJ40 restorations over the past 10 years. We believe there is no man in the U.S. with more experience and talent to restore an FJ40 to "Show Quality" than Quirino. Quirino takes exceptional pride in his work and is a total artist by nature. You've never seen an FJ40 restored to equal this vehicle and it clearly represents the pride and love Quirino has for his fine work. This vehicle was his baby!
We also featured this Rare FJ40 as our 2005 Poster vehicle. To date we have distributed over 6,000 CCOT 2004 Calendars featuring this vehicle and there are 3,000 CCOT Posters of this vehicle soon to be released. This head turning FJ40 is well known simply because there are none nicer!
In our restoration process, this vehicle was completely dismantled and all parts inspected for repair and refinishing. Vehicles original color was Rustic Green (Code 621) but we wanted the African look (theme) and opted to do a complete repaint of ALL interior and exterior surfaces with the Land Cruiser color of Olive Brown (Code 653). Vehicle was flawlessly repainted by Quirino with original Toyota color and finish is of a much higher quality than the factory finish. For a "Factory Original Sheen", CCOT paints all FJ40s with PPG Single Stage Acrylic Enamel.
Parts (mechanical or cosmetic) in need of replacement were done so with all new parts. Mechanically, this vehicle was in superb condition when arriving at CCOT. We combed over every inch of this vehicle and serviced all mechanical systems and replaced any worn or dysfunctional parts with new. Vehicle drives tight and performs beautifully. Vehicle is in excellent running condition. The engine does not smoke, leak oil, or run hot. A recent compression test indicates high psi in all 6 cylinders. All electricals, signals, lights and gauges function perfectly.
To upgrade this rare FJ40, CCOT added Toyota power steering and air-conditioning to make this FJ40 comfortable to operate without distracting from its originality. To add a little toughness to the exterior look, we added BFG 33" x 10.5" Radial Mud T/As tires (5 ea.) and 2.5" HFS Lift with CCOT's "Hell for Stout" shackled bumper with Warn 8,000 lb. 8274 winch. To make the interior a little more functional we added the CCOT center console and CCOT's "Visor Storage Shelf" (not shown in pic below). These upgrades add to vehicle value, comfort, look and functionality.

It was the intent of CCOT to restore this collectible FJ40 to museum quality and we did just that. It is our hope that this FJ40 will remain in the same new condition for many, many years and never be exposed to salt or sea-side living. We additionally hope that the new owner will keep actual mileage below 70,000 mi. to retain its unique collectible rarity in the Land Cruiser world.
As with all Calendar FJ40s, CCOT will only sell this vehicle by retaining a "first right of refusal" to purchase vehicle back should Purchaser ever decide to sell.
